This is a discussion list for books published during the 1800s and early 1900s about farming and gardening. This is about the books themselves, their availability, condition, and the like. Recommendations for the Tumbledown Farm Library of Traditional Farming and Organic Gardening are welcome here.

In the 19th and early 20th centuries, this topic would have been labeled "manures" and would have included almost any addition to the soil intended to increase its fertility. Manures have gone out of fashion, but as the low cost "permanent" solution, manures and composts should be on every farmer's list of "fertilizers."
