Tumbledown Farm is the creation of a suburban central Indiana family.  We welcome your comments, criticisms, suggestions for improvement and recommendations for additional research.

We offer in an informal way what was once offered more elaborately by the National Service Institute to farm families, 19th and early 20th century advice about all aspects of the rural life with personal contact and with answers that are newly researched, tested, and described in living color as questions are received.

This information is provided in three primary sections of our site in different ways:

By direct question and answer in our Farm and Garden Talk forums. (Note: you must register with the site [upper left sidebar] in order to participate in the forums; some of the answers to questions in the forum may be provided by members and not by Tumbledown Farm. We do not vouch for the accuracy of answers other than our own.)

Through summaries of best practices in our "How To" Tips.

And through the publication in our library of original sources (upper right sidebar) from the late 19th and early 20th century.

We invite others to join us in the creation of a network of experimental research stations to report on projects that support sustainable, suburban micro-farms.  We also welcome reader contributions (photos and stories about sustainable farming and organic gardening) and information about farm publications from the 19th and early 20th centuries.

Please direct your comments to: tumbledo@tumbledownfarm.com.

We especially invite your submission of inquiries and recommendations of additional online resources.

We also respond to old fashioned "snail mail," so send us a letter at:
